So I'm in the market for one. I like to overclock, but in no way am I experienced at it and therefore I probably need basic flexibility for OCing. Would like to possibly SLi in the future.

Current set up:
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T AM3
Sapphire 5850 1GB Xtreme
Seasonic 650W
8GB Kingston DDR3
either of these will be fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402 8+1 phase power for overclocking + dual 8x PCIe for crossfire
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157198 Only 4+1 phases but they're high quality, also has 8x/8x crossfire

Vdroop is very common, but easly delt with useing llc enabled. And a 4+1 phase is not for ocing, get a board with at least a 6+2 or higher.

just wished there could have been like one unanimous recommendation lol. I purchased every parts already and just need mobo to start building so probably wont upgrade anytime soon. I am not a pioneer kind of person so I don't buy the newest and latest gpu (usually wait for price drop). And I do mean crossfire not SLi. So I'm thinking that 4+1 or 8+1 talk is talking about CPU volt upage? in my last comp I pushed my CPU only to safe level OCing so I probably do the same to this one. Just looking for small to medium OCing to get more performance with little to no risk.

When you find a mobo that interest you, go to there web site and look at the specs-it will tell you what the phase is, and yes it is very important, even a mild oc on the wrong board can fry your vrms wich are located to the left of your cpu socket, rule of thumb, if there is no heat sink on them realy shouldnt over clock much if any at all, and a 4+1 phase mobo to me just isnt worth it when spending a $100.
