Any ways to make it faster? - Page 2

There are only a few things on a laptop and everyone has suggested them. And from the looks of it you have done everything except 2. So you next 2 things would be ram and SSD. The ssd will do more then allow your programs to open faster, computer operations run faster just as if you put more ram in your pc. Upgrading the cpu is something that you would have to take a chance on. I would find out if people got that cpu that you want to buy working in your laptop before spending the money on it.

Upgrade your Harddrive to a SSD, it will make the most difference in performance. You will feel it right away, its like installing a turbo kit on an car =]

Upgrade your ram to the max that your laptop can take, my previous laptop was at 2gb of ram, I upgraded to 4gb of ram and the difference is huge, everything open faster and smoother.

Replace the CPU for a faster one(Or overclock it if you can find some software to do so since you will be strictly limited to software) I was able to push out 2.4ghz on my HP Dv6 with an AMD Turion 64x2 @ 2.0ghz stock_

It gets pretty hot when you overclock a laptop, I suggest changing the old thermal paste out with some new stuff, it'll help a lot, dropped my temps down 5C_ if you really want to get extreme_ watercool your laptop =] (of course it'll all be custom work)
