This was one of my error's for the 1 drive, not the 2nd that actually is working with spinrite. I haven't proved your issue, just had to reconfigure it differently/remake the "vm profile", and reformat the drive. All format attempts prior were quick formats, not full formats. Hence you're not actually proven.
I'll throw a barb out. I'll try to be nice about it, but really man, get off the high horse, we're not all perfect, or right, etc. Hence why i've opened up to questions, and these are my results of those answers, and still looking for further answers to more questions related to it. I'm learning, asking, and inquiring for proof/options/idea's.
I don't have an option right now to "disable" my hdd's I presently have, and just boot with this hdd and repair it alone. I don't have a 2nd pc case for this method presently, nor will I in the near future. I'm working with what tech I have, that does have options to work, can work, has proven to work, just trying to seek further idea's/suggestions, no matter how wacky they seem.
Sorry if I haven't been clear, just trying to help out my own question...
