cable management and air flow are pretty weak reasons too.. is that really why?

imo the gap is an eye sore on an otherwise perfect case.. cant stand it

I sense a mod coming up!

Cover that sucker and show them how it is supposed to look...

Check out my post Although I am sure someone might come up with a better solution or better looking one since I consider myself amateur hour compared to some of the other case modders here at OCN lol

Yeah, i thought about cable management, but there are cable management holes within 2cms of the gap, i honestly dont think it would make much of a difference, there are other cases with removable motherboard trays that dont have the gap and as for air flow, i have my doubts but it is about the only logical reason i can think of....

Does nobody else think it's quite a bit too big? All of the hardware is pretty much squashed into 1/4 of the case, the rest is just a waste of space. :/

No, it's really not a waste. Considering this chassis is built with Watercooling in mind, it provides ample space for multiple radiators, reservoirs, pumps, etc. You don't buy this case and throw an H50 in it. You buy it and throw a real WC loop in it.

Seriously...you see it all the time. they cut out pieces of the case not needed for the stregth of structure. Make a pallet of 20 cases and it adds up to cheaper shipping costs pretty quick.

I think this is a case of mainly cable and hose management though

Honestly, while looking through most the build log I see quite a few people using that gap for cable and tube management - even with the other wire management holes nearby. So I guess most people are finding use of it. I know that I plan on using it as well, this way I can slightly pull my tray out before having to disconnect major wires and this will allow my hand a lil more room to work in.

But then again I still tried to hide it just to see if I could or if it looked better. End result I was able to hide it and now I can use that gap for cable management and it will likely be much easier to route sleeved cables than through the other holes.

That picture is of a TH10 - the case is meant to handle up to HPTX motherboard (SR-2) so yes it would have alot of space if he is not using that motherboard. Also the other added space up top and bottom is meant for internal watercooling. This line of cases was created for more extreme WC applications or at least taking them in mind.

Yeah, i plan on getting a piece of plexi cut the same width and a few mils higher than the cut so i can wedge it in and the force of it trying to expand should hold it in place, not sure if it will work though, but half the fun is in trying right?
