I'm going to suggest a slightly different psu - the corsair ax1200. It probably costs slightly more, but it's performance is unrivaled.

Interesting. it does cost a bit more about $90 more than the abs and $50 more than the corsair 1000watt.

If you must get a way overkill unit for some reason, get the OCZ ZX1000. It's 80 plus Gold, fully modular, and better quality than the two units you were considering. It's on the recommended list, if that makes you feel better. Price is $190 before 10% promo code and before $30 MIR on newegg:

That's not "way overpowered" for 2x 6990s.

I still going to stand by my AX1200 suggestion. It is way overkill for most (all?) situations, but because its quality is so high, it is easily worth the extra cash.

Even the AX850 is more than capable of handling massive loads. I've heard that even the AX750 can pump out 900W without damaging itself - obviously thats not good in the long run, but it shows the superiority of the parts.

Oh whoops, I read 2x 6970s instead of 2x 6990s. Big difference. 1000W is about right for that, though 1200W may be better if you're overclocking them and plan to run some kind of load on them that will actually stress them all the way.

Hopefully you're hard or hearing or this isn't going to happen on air, or the noise will be deafening. I don't even want to contemplate it.

Like I said, the ABS Majesty 1100W is alright so long as you assume it's a 800W unit.
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/..._supply_review
Since it costs $189.99, at that price you might as well get a Corsair AX850 as far as 800W units go.

I think it is a pretty good psu, and the others have also listed some great ones, i have used plenty over the years. If your still looking, check out the sparkle 1250 gold modular. I,m very happy with mine. They did a very great job on it and have a 5 year warrenty to back it up.
