Need to remove battery to boot PC

Thread Starter
I don't know what caused this but the last couple of days when I get home from work my computer was off (it was on when I left). The power button on the front nor the power button on the motherboard work. I have to remove the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes to get the PC to boot.

I'm running at 3.67 @ 1.4v with load temps at 38C on Athlon II X4 640.

have you by any chance reset CMOS with the Jumper recently and forgot to move it back???

just my 1st thought

if not go into bios and just load setup defaults, forget the overclock for the time being and see if computer works normally for a day or so.

I didn't use the jumper but I did use the button. I'll see if the button is not stuck.
I suppose I'll run the computer at stock speeds.

The computer ran for a few days just fine but it crashed not too long ago.
Now it seems the problem is getting worse. It can't go more than 20 minutes without a crash.

I just bought a new PSU which should be in today. I'm hoping the power supply is the only thing wrong with my PC.

I replaced my current PSU with a 750TX about 5 hours ago and so far I haven't had any issues.

I've been using my old computer which is fast but after a while it seems like those milliseconds add up. I'm glad to have my new computer back!
