【URGENT】 New SB Build - RAM Issue

SOLVED

Hi, I finished my first build yesterday. It is an i5 2400 with P8H67-M LE board with G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2GB 1600 CL9 RAM (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL) and right now running onboard GPU because I'm a little short on cash.

However, when I run CPU-Z there is a problem:

It says my RAM is running at 665.2 MHz when it should be running at 1333 MHz since my board doesn't support 1600 MHz RAM.

Is this normal or do I have to set things myself? Also, can I safely get my RAM to run @ 1333 MHz CL7?

It is running at the 2 multi most likely so 665 x 2 or 1330. You are fine

It is DDR3!

So the clockspeed is fine?

What about timings? Will I be able to safely make it to 7-7-7-21?

Sorry, I stealth edited my post because I mispoke.

As tats said, CPU-z shows the ddr frequecy of your memory, if you multiply that by 2 you get your current value, or you can check your bios GUI and it probably shows the ddr3 value. either way its normal and fine.

As far as the clockspeed goes, what volts are you running right now? You can try to tighten the timings however for most daily applications you wont see a tangible difference.

It's on 1.5V. If i can't tighten the timings, will I be able to up the clockspeed to 800mhz x2?

On video games running directly from your drive (mmo's, .isos etc) you might see a minimal/if any performance increase, otherwise its kinda pointless unless you like benchmarks

You should have no problem getting 1600 if your ram is half decent imo. and your room is not next door to hell.
