On topic, RMA the card and you'll love the new one you get. If you need any help with it just be sure to let me know, I'd love to help you!
People have rma'd, sold cards because of this crash only to later when they learned of the bug.

Thanks for the replies! I just shut down the MSI AB and I'm going to play some BC2 now. Also is there any other programs I should test this GPU on? Mining on guiminer crasher after 30mins or so. I really don't think this GPU is fully functional.

Edit: Oh and I installed the Windows with the 6950 in.

Edit2: BC2 seemed to work, will get into more deeper stability testing (gaming) now Guiminer still crashes though. Could it be somekind of a powersaving thing after screen goes off?

I had that crash for awhile in BC2, screen just freezes, looks completely normal, get a harsh tone for a few seconds....then need to reboot

I still use TRIXX for a slight OC/fan control, just X the program before starting BC2, and I use HWmonitor to monitor temps, no conflict with it.

@ Tsm & Mit Namso,

Thanks for reminding me of that, because after reading the other responses I do remember this happening to some people and reading about it. I completely forgot that this could have been happening.

@ OP,

Sorry if my information could have been possibly misleading, the other posters are correct for sure about that crash dealing with other overclocking/monitoring applications being open in the background. I use GPU shark and I haven't had any problems with it yet.

Hope that helps clear things up a bit, and once again I love this community for the mature and subtle rebukes that they give!

The MSI afterburner was the reason the BC2 crashed. Played it for 2-3 hours straight, max temps 80c @ stock bios and stock clocks The Bitcoin mining still remains as an issue though.

It is a known issue that MSI Afterburner causes BC2 to freeze the whole PC, it all started after the last update of Punkbuster on March 9th...

Sadly, there's nothing we can do, it's not AMD's fault, neither MSI's fault, but all Punkbuster's fault.

I don't know what could cause the other issue you're having, sorry.

It seems to work after I disabled screensaver. A temporary fix

I was worried too, it took 2-3 days after getting my 6950 it realize BC2 crash was serious, and it took a few more days to find the solution

No real troubles with any other games so far, I can't wait to see how it does with BF3

Glad I found this thread, I was a few weeks away from ordering a 6950 2gb. Mainly for BF2 though, but recently bought BC2.

No MSI afterburner running and it should work for BC2 is what im getting from reading here?
