I have come to the conclusion that my new pc performance is worse than my old one

I just dont understand why, I have tried bc2, shogun 2, mw2 and civ5 and they all seem to have worse performance than before, mw2 dips into 29 fps sometmes and thats mw2! I have tried everything, reinstalling nvidia drivers, disabling c3,c6 and c1e in the bios and nothing seems to work. I am at the end of my rope here and quite demoralized can anyone help me here?

make sure drivers are properly cleaned, and all chipset drivers are installed for your board. check my sig for drivers.

and performance was probably limited by the gtx260, and still is.

Only upgrading the CPU but not the g.card won`t help you that much. The g.card is bottlenecking the CPU.

Like I said I properly installed my drivers, however for my chipset drivers I installed from the disk, do you think I should DL the newest ones from the internet?

Also I am aware that my 260gtx is limiting my system but I do not understand why games are running WORSE than before.

generally rule of thumb with drivers is newer the better.

because ur cpu is being bottle necked so your performance is decreased. might want to save up for a new card or something imo. i bought my gtx 570 and it was pricey at first but so worth it. oc it too

That makes zero sense.

If the GPU is the limiting factor, performance will be the same. Same GPU, same performance.

First of all it is overclocked to 4.5ghz. Second why would my cpu being bottle necked give me LOWER performance than my old q6600 @3ghz? At the very worst it should give me the same performance I was experiencing before
