Suggestion for a Gaming monitor

Greetings,

Recently i have ordered a new gaming rig. And therefore i want a new Monitor, to have a nice gaming experience on it. Ofcourse i will do other stuff on it, like watching movies or TV series and surfing the internet. But primarily it will be gaming.
For info: i play all kind of games, not only FPS.

There is so much to choose from, i really cant decide. My budget is maximum €230,-.

At the moment i am leaning towards the LG E2370V:http://www.lg.com/us/computer-produc...-E2370V-BF.jsp But i can't find any reviews for it yet. But i love the idea of the Thru mode, and it's a IPS panel, that is supposed to be made for gaming .
Or the LG W2363D: http://www.lg.com/us/computer-produc...-W2363D-PF.jsp since it is 120HZ, so it must be great for gaming right?

If any of you could help me out on this one, i would really appreciate it.

Regards.

That one may look nice but it has a very slow response time. Look for monitors that have 5ms or less response times. You can find several Samsungs and Asus that have great color and have 5ms or less response times. That LG is not a gaming monitor it looks like. ALso make sure that if you want to have different mounting option that the monitor is VESA approved which gives you far more options for desk and wall mounts. There is a Samsung BX2331 that is really nice but not VESA. It has low response times and good color reproduction. there are better ones of course. There are several thread on here about IPS panels. there are different types. I think the s-IPS is the best kind to go with if that is what you want.

The second LG you have there is nice and if you can find one since it is discontinued that may a good one. But there are other 120hz monitors out there.

He thanks for the reply,

I know the E2370V has a slow response time, 8ms. But i dont think that is the real problem right, since everything under 16ms should be good, atleast that is what i have heard . I think the Input lag is the main problem, but since it has the "Thru Mode" that should be allright. It is an IPS panel that is supposed to be made for gaming, that is what they listed.

I know the 120hz would be better for gaming, definitely for FPS. But is the color accuration really that bad? The LG w2363D is in Holland still easy to get btw. So that will not be the problem .

Is there any suggestion you can make, which you would prefer?

O btw i will be sitting really close to my monitor, straight infront of it. I will be using only 1 monitor aswell.

Thanks in advance.

I have a http://bit.ly/mhjMm9 and use it primarily for gaming. I play a lot of sc2 but no real FPS yet. Its got a good picture and a 2ms response time. I'm sure it will work well for fps.
