pull vs push?

Thread Starter
right now i have a CM hyper 212+ in a push config. however the fan that it comes with is blocking my other 2 ram slots, therefore I am tempted to move it to the back, making it pull the air instead. any suggestions as to what I could do?

The temp of your room and case flow in general are more important than which side your fan is on. just experiment dude, do you need more ram? I have a mega and my vreg cooler is in the way but on the other side of the ram so i run 1 push fan works fine adding the second fan only made a 2-3 degree c difference with my cooler and case anyway. 1 good quality fan should be fine.

See if you can slide the blademaster a bit higher for more clearance for your ram. Mine litereally has like 1mm clearance lol.

You can do pull if you wanted. Push was only better by like 0.5 C iirc.

I think the blademaster is a good fan for the cooler. It has good static pressure and pushes a decent amount of air. As for the front case fan, what type of fan are you looking for? Is noise a factor for you?

hard to say weather push or pull is better, depends on fan blade design. Easy way to tell if your fan is better sutied for push or pull is to run it outside of the case, and feel the flow on both side's of the fan.

o okay, that might be a good idea, i guess i could run some tests, as for the front of the case idk what fan would be good, noise isnt so much of a factor as being able to cool my pc.

and i can't do a push pull because i dont really have room, but i will try and maybe raise the blademaster to fit some ram tho

Read this test by ehume. Basically push or pull are really close, although it did slightly favor push in his tests. The OP would be fine with pull config.
