If you are going to go water then go water start with a RASA kit, but a H70 will not out perform a D14. I agree 100% on Gigabyte over Asus.

The samsung f4 2tb is a 5400rpm drive. If he will be installing apps / games on the second drive a 1tb F3 (7200rpm) or wd blue/black (7200rpm) would be much better than the slower F4. The F4 2tb is better served strictly as a media drive.

+Rep, Switched to 7200rpm drive. I didn't even notice it was a 5400rpm drive. I put this list together in 5-10 minutes .

Hey all, so the I am the one putting together this computer and since I'm a semi-noob when it comes to hardware I joined OCN to get some decent advice, welcome to my first post . I like the build so far, the one question I have is maybe changing the i5 2500k to i7 2600k?

I know it terms of gaming it will not make a difference but I do use photoshop and some video editing software from time to time. Will the HT really make that much of a difference? Basically I want to know if that upgrade is worth the additional cost.

Cheers

If you are doing alot of editing and encoding yes it will make a pretty big difference in time waiting.

It's a $100 upgrade. If your doing video editing/encoding on a daily or weekly basis then I would agree the upgrade is worth it. If your only going to do some video editing once a month, I don't think the upgrade is worth the cost.
