Just saw the same thing at TomsHardware.
Quite interesting with the Tri-Gate technology. I really hope AMD can come up with something decent. It's going to be hard to compete with Intel when they evolve like this all the time.

Great news, however !

Cool, sounds like my hopes of us seeing Conroe to Wolfdale all over again with Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge might be a reality. It sounds like this is as "big" of a change to the transistor as we saw with 45nm Wolfdale? Hopefully 5GHz becomes as easy and common as 4GHz when Wolfdale was introduced.

did i read that correctly a 37% increase over Sandy??? Ivy will be a beast.

Not quite. The 37% performance increase will only be at low power, if I understood it correctly.
And over 50% lower general power consumption, of course.

Still, it will be pretty bad ass... No wonder all AMD CEO's were dropping like flies.

Pretty impressive stuff. Good read. I guess its sorry to AMD. I don't think they'll ever be back on top, or even close.

Kind of makes me wonder where AMD is going to be with BD. Intel puts things like this out there, but we don't see the same from AMD. We already have a good idea what Ivy Bridge will be capable of, but no clue as to what BD will be capable of. If Ivy is priced along the lines of SB, AMD is in a world of trouble.

Enter the AMD guy now that will call us all Fanboys
