The board is 3+1 phase power
This does not necessarily mean your system is at huge risk i.e. catastrophic failure because ASUS boards regularly feature VRM protection. However, it may be this protection that is at your disadvantage. The VRM protection on ASUS boards usually causes throttling as CPU TDP overloads the VRM temperature & max current supported; on a 1090T 125W with OC, the most VRM-heavy chip, this is probably activating way too often. Your FSX is probably crashing because of the sudden speed throttling required to keep the VRMs from catastrophically failing.

The solution to your problems may be a new motherboard with more capable VRM.

Thanks for input! I really appreciate it! I'm looking for a new mobo today. At this point money is becoming a huge factor on what I can get (mainly because the wife doesn't really need to know how much I'm spending )

I've seen a few "Less expensive" boards on various websites and will post the specs or links to get some experienced input from the "Professionals!"

Although I don't now the extent of the bios with regard to overclocking control, I was looking at this board yesterday, mainly because of price and the fact that it has a FSB of 2600MHz Hyper Transport (5200 MT/s), compared to the 1000MHz of my current board.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138283

I have a $10 credit and with free shipping its only going to be $44.

But, I really don't want to waste any more money on components that are not really suited for my needs.

I guess I should mention I just want to get that best out of what I have right now. This is why i'm buying a new board and CPU cooler. I know faster ram would be better, but at this point I don't want to drop another $100 plus for it.

Thanks everyone! Keep the recommendations coming!

Well .. I'm not quite sure about this, but the Biostar board only supports 125W TPD and I belive there is no such restrictions on the MSI board.
I'm not quite sure how/if affects the performance, and I'm too lazy to Google it.
However, the MSI is better quality anyway and open-box. So it's cheaper and I, personally, would feel more safe with an MSI board on the long run.

Based on just the manuals of each of these mobo, MSI really gets the nod for the superior product. But what would really seal the deal for me is , would I be able to use the ram I originaly had installed with my current ram? Old ram (2x2gb) is ddr3 1333 CL9; New ram (2x4gb) is ddr3 1066 CL7
...giving me 12gigs of ram?

Edit.... also, being that this is an open box, can I reuse any of the cables from my current board if something is missing from the new board?

Would that be a YES for using all 4 sticks of ram, and reusing any cables from my current setup? Thanks!
