how much quieter is the AP15 to the h70 stock fans?

Thread Starter
i know there was a thread with numbers and dB of how quiet it was, but for those who own the h70 and upgrade to the GT AP15 how much of a difference was there in noise reduction? Im planning to get 2x ap15 and a accelero extreme plus to replace my stock 470 cooling. Which should make my system pretty quiet unless the stock haf 932 case fan are loud.

All I know is the stock HAF 932 fans are almost dead silent for me. I got a GT AP-29 on a controller doing 1900-2000rpm most of the time and I can't hear it from a few feet away.

With resistor on (1600 RPM), Corsair stock fan produces 26 dBA which is on par with AP-15 but without that resistor (2000 RPM), the noise level goes up to 31.5 dBA. That's a little too high for me.

IMO, the sweet spot is at or around 30 dBA and the only GT that does that is the 2150 RPM model (the last remaining model before the jump to not-so-Gentle Typhoon).

If the H70 fans are anything like the one that came with the H50, the AP-15s are much quieter. I put my Corsair fan in the case for airflow help during the CC and it easily drowns out everything else put together. Yes this includes the GPU fan when that ramps up.

Without the Corsair fan it's almost a silent system. Almost.

Key to silence with the AP-15s is a shroud between the pull fan and the radiator... GREATLY reduces noise.
