Just another AM3+ board suggestion I'd like to throw around in case anyone's having a hard trouble finding any to buy gunner2.gif

LINK
Use code savemay5 to get extra $5 off!

NOTICE: For high TDP processors and overclocking, it is recommended you add VRM cooling to supplement the 4+1 phase power.

Gigabyte makes very high quality VRMs
I'm pretty sure most here are aware of this issue right now and you could grab a set of VRMsinks for relatively inexpensive in case you will happen to buy this with a higher TDP processor - what matters is the AM3+ CPU support.

The majority of AM3+ CPUs will also be lower 95W TDP, which is where the need for more beastly VRMs starts to fade out a bit

I'm joking biggrin.gif, I allways warn people of VRMs weaknesses mainly because you allways point it out, ive seen what can happen 1st hand what can happen when electronics go bad frown.gif.

This one is a 4+1 actually. I would recommend throwing some heatsinks on it for better, safer OC. It is the 870A-UD3 and 870-UD3P that is 8+2.

This board now has a $10 rebate making it $93.50/$83.50 AR! Good deal

Use $5 off code savemay5 to make it $78.49 after rebate.

how am I suppose to overclock my bulldozer without vrm cooling? frown.gif
post #10 of 11
Thread Starter
Not all Bulldozers will be high TDP of 125W (where phase count & VRM cooling start to become huge concern), actually the only 125W is the top end 8-core processor; the majority are a lower 95W
