Thinking about going Dualies again

Thread Starter
Was in a financial bind at the time so i sold my 21' dell Monitor.

Still Rocking my 24'' samsung lcd and its amazing.

I really am considering a few options come June when i get my bonus...

I was thinking of getting around a 30-32'' monitor and use my samsung as the secondary. possibly just getting another samsung.

Any advice? Are 30+ in screens still solid for everything.

I mainly game.

Thx

If you have a spare $1,000-$1500 lying around sure.

You'll also need a new video card.

Unless you're thinking about getting a 30"+ TV and using that as a monitor, which I would advise against (as a main monitor anyways).

2560x1600 rocks yes, U3011 can be bought refurbed for $900. Then get an open box 6990 for $430 and you're good to go. Alternatively 2 gtx 560 2gbs would work well or 2 480's.

MY single gtx480, mildly oced, has played black ops and sc2 without a hitch. depending on what sort of gaming you do, then you likely will not need to go sli or xfire.

Yeah but that's like saying I can get 500fps in Notepad. SC2 is very CPU dependent, and CoD isn't known to stress video cards much. A 480 alone is powerful enough to run those types of games by itself. But when you start getting into your BC2, Crysis, Metro, GTA4, or most newer games, it will likely be a stretch.

Even WoW @ 1600p gives some video cards a run for their money.
