Looking to buy a new Video Card. NEED HELP! :) - Page 3

I would look for these cards in pretty much this order- 5850, GTX460 1gb, 6790, 5830, GTX550TI, 5770. Microcenter tends not to have the best deals on graphics cards- depending on whats instock for you locally. All of those will require a new powersupply.

If you dont upgrade your powersupply, the best you can really hope for is something like a GT440.

A quality 500W power supply will power anything around that price point. For a 5770, a quality 450W will do just fine. Might want to grab a nice 500W one for a 5850 or similar, though.

I'd pick this up while it's on sale for $50: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371035

Make sure noise isn't a concern. That 80mm fan would drive me crazy. I used the 380w version for a friend with a gts 450 and it was annoying.

I'd go with an EVGA GTX 550ti with your budget. Will be your best bet in my opinion. Great reviews for it's level of performance for your budget and the most up to date.

Please post back when you've decided and made your choice. Always nice to know how it concludes.

No reason to buy a new PSU for a 5770 though. His current 350w ought to be just fine for such a low load.

Although if you bought that Antec 550w unit, you could run any single GPU you could possibly want on your machine though.
