I think it is funny that it will turn the macs into "zombies" since people who buy macs are pretty much zombies that want to devour anything apple releases.

Not knowing about zero-day bugs or DNS flaws makes you incompetent?
I posted another reply to someone else above yours explaining essentially the same thing. The article is saying this is the worst flaw yet. For OS X to be around for 11 years without such an exploit being... exploited, is pretty amazing. There's a lot of tech-savvy Mac users out there who have made some pretty incredible applications, scripts, etc. I'm surprised this wasn't uncovered earlier, to be honest with you.

Amen. I'm loving mint linux's elegance, long time ubuntu user here (4 years?) and been using linux all my life, but mint is the most polished I've seen yet I think, since they base it off of ubuntu releases and then add a bit more polish and awesomeness to it.

To everyone: Anything can be hacked, specifically when the user is stupid, but linux has at least a solid framework that does two things, not always make the user require their password *cough* UAC *cough* to run every other app out there, and secondly if you do get a virus, unless you let it have access to your rarely granted root privileges, there is only so much that the virus will have access to on your computer, easily removed, with a simple removal of the account as it has no access to the system files. The whole concept of how linux is designed and run, from using /etc/ instead of some ridiculous registry to the complete controllability of it makes linux easier to protect, and if someone ever did start attacking it, which for now is completely implausible due to obscurity, it would be much easier to secure, and there are such a huge number of developers out there it would be extremely difficult to keep up with the patches.
Nothing.
absolutely nothing.
Is unhackable, but Linux's kernel and whole design has been implemented to make it as difficult to hack and as fixable as possible.

Hmmm, I love the simplicity of the package manager. It's mainly the debian based systems I love, but Arch isn't half bad, used red hat / fedora back in the day... etc... Arch is just a tad more difficult to get setup on my system (with my raid0 and such)

Just because they don't/didn't get viruses didn't mean they were impervious to attack, just download metasploit and take a look at the exploits in that library.
