Time for a new phone

So yeah, since getting a job, the minutes in my prepaid phone are being eaten up like there's no tomorrow (my job calls me all the time and I have to call them every day). Back when I was unemployed with essentially an earned allowance unrelated to my parents giving me money, a prepaid phone I used for cheap texts and such worked well for me. Didn't break my wallet, and could pretend I was a teenager in high school!

But yeah, times change, and I'm looking to get something that will AT LEAST let me get unlimited calling and long distance bla bla bla. Texting doesn't have to be unlimited, and data by no means has to be unlimited. If I get a smart phone, it likely will be connected to my Wi-Fi connection 99% of the time for internet.

Anyway, I'm sort of looking at Walmarts Straight Talk service thing. $45 a month for unlimited calling, texting, and mobile internet (admittedly this is a rather restricted internet). However, as I'm planning on moving out FINALLY soon, I'm thinking about perhaps going with something different, something that may be more expensive monthly, BUT doubles as my internet connection. Might not be the best idea, but as I'll finally be on my own, saving money is important (that and I know my job isn't going to be awesome money wise).

Long story short, any suggestions on either a cheap phone with unlimited calls and possibly unlimited texting OR a phone that has unlimited calls and possibly texting with a decent data plan that will double as my main internet connection? Am I just being stupid about all of this?

ATT won't work for you because it's like $50 a month JUST for unlimited talk.

I'm not planning on ATT for many reasons both morally (I wont support them), and geographically (there is no ATT service in my area).
