VMware sound issue

Thread Starter
hi guys, I have a problem with VM, I am currently running Mac OS X 10.6.7 in VMware, using windows 7 ult. as host OS.

so I installed Mac OS X and some sound drivers (EnsoniqAudioPCI_v1.0.3...) and I am still having some issues with my sound, I get a crackling and skipping of the sound coming out, now from my understanding you get that sound when your CPU starts to max out BUT! in this case it is not I have speedfan running and I can even play pandora on my PC while its running, no issues with that at all. it simply just won't run correctly.

Thanks,
Steve Clay

Hello

I don't think OSX is legal on other computers than Apple's own computers, even while in VM. Applications don't tend to run well on un-supported OS's in VmWare.

Actually it is legal. Many computers such as Compaq (HP) computers can run OS X as an OS, and even have the drivers to run OS X software on there support page on their site. Many businesses run apple's Mac OS X off of Built computers. Apple also makes 64-bit AMD based software which allows users such as me to run Mac OSX on our computers. I choose to use PC as a MAIN or HOST OS because of some application requirements used in my business, but also looking to expand my choice of software, where I can run Mac OS X and Win 7 (U) on one computer. Using software such as VMware allows me to do so, I am just running into the issue of sound which is a BIG issue for music production.

Ill make a video showing the issues I am dealing with and also show some positives to running in VMware.
