Need a Subwoofer

Thread Starter
Hey I was wondering what type of Subwoofer to get for my Hip-Hop/Rap/DnB/Dubstep Setup.

Current Setup:

Phillips Magnavox FW768P Mini HiFi System
2x 6 OHM Speakers
1x 6 OHM Center
(I don't use the 2x Back Left and Back Right Speakers, even though its a 5 speaker system.)

I was wondering what Subwoofer I should get that would be best for what I am using it for.

Thanks OCN .

you can look at the Yamaha YST-SW216 100W Front-Firing Subwoofer or the Dayton SUB-80 8" 80 Watt Powered Subwoofer. Perfect for small systems.

HIGHLY debateable, By phone, not so bad, via email/PM on forums, its major hit and miss. Still worth it though The amount of air my SSS pushes is CRAAAAAZY

EDIT: So impressed with the quality/value etc im considering getting some Catalysts for my front stage

OT: You didnt state your budget, it would assist, assuming from your system, i would go with what Spooony said

Your center and the sub is the 2 most important speakers in a surround setup. Then take a few hours to setup the speakers so they give you that true surround effect. Room acoustics also influence a sub greatly and it will sound different from person to person. how big is the room your going to place them? If its relative small those choices i gave up there should fit your needs.

Your system is a 6 way 150w so getting a sub close to its output is better.
Dayton SUB-100 10" 125 Watt Powered Subwoofer <-- $20 more than the 80w but its worth it
Dayton SUB-120 12" 150 Watt Powered Subwoofer <--- This is for a meduim to bigger room.

Forgot to ask what's your budget?
