ssd sata power connection broken

Thread Starter 
just recieved an ocz agility 60g ssd today,installed windows 7 then i shut down the pc to swap the ssd in to a 3,5 caddy so it would fit in my desktop tower,
but when i pulled out the sata cable from the ssd the plastic around the sata connection broke off,so now i cant connect a sata cable to the ssd,ive just ordered one of these cables hoping with the sata connection still ok i could connect both power and sata together,will this be ok thanks,

if you snapped the connector off the drive, that cable won't help any...

Unless you know something we don't, pics would be nice.

If you snapped the connector off all together there's no magical trick that's going to fix that.

Edit: Unless the magical trick is opening the drive up and soldering power to the board, I don't consider this magical.

I don't know how to do this(off hand) and imagine it requires a fine eye and good soldering skills. I really wouldn't want my boot drive to be rigged like this ether.

just the plastic surrounding the power connector broke off ,the pins are still intact,

I would try to RMA as suggested there.

even if you get a plug to line up, it would probably be kind of shoddy without the pins being fed by the plastic.

edit: I would tell you to find a connector and crimp them yourself but I'm not sure where you would find such a piece.

I had the same problem with a Seagate 7200.10 320 gig drive. It works fine if I use the cable with the plastic still stuck inside of it, but there is no way to keep the cable on the connectors
