Oh come on, it's 2011. What does a man have to do around here to get a motherboard in the reasonable price range that isn't brown/black and blue? I really, really wouldn't mind some more red or lime green on today's boards.

With southbridge die sizes getting a lot smaller, the TDP decreases, but it is harder to spread the heat around due to the die having much less surface area - hence why even a small heatsink is necessary.

Isn't it?
It's both, providing the needed current to the memory, etc stresses the IMC extra.

I had 8GB of RAM, it was DDR2 and it didn't affect my CPU/NB overclock at all, nor my normal overclock. (CPU/NB being the IMC and L3 cache)

It didn't make any difference to me at all.

Well how many memory modules are you using now then?

And what's the revision of your chip?
