9800GTX is fine for DX9 console ports lol.

Doesn't matter if there are new cards, if your happy with it

Probably until games only support DX11.

HAHAHAHAHA WHAT?

You've either been under a rock for far longer than 9 months or you be trolling.

The ATi 4000 (now AMD) series was released in 2009 and the GTX 200 series was released around the same time. We've well moved on from them now.

ports ._____________. i run mw2/bc2 fine. the most graphical intensive games i have are crysisy 1/2 and GTA4. there isnt a game i own that i can max out and achive 40+fps avrage and never drop below 30.

mw2 runs at 90+fps, bc2 is at 50-80fps, crysis 35-55

should i step into a gtx260? ive seen them for $99 at the egg. would it be a big difference? big step over a 9800

This. I'm tired of people on OCN asking how long their card will last. It will last until it no longer suits your need - there is not a magical time limit when the card no longer works and needs to be replaced.

Don't bother getting a GTX 260. You'd barely notice a difference at all. If you want a cheap upgrade, you're either looking for a second hand card, or to wait a while for current prices to fall. Plus you can get better, more modern cards for similar prices right now.

At least, I think you can, price-wise. I'm always a little confused by pricing across the pond.
