Advice on First build.

Thread Starter
Alright lads, just wondering if you could offer me some advice for my first build and take a look over the components to see if they are decent.

Case - Cooler Master Sileo 500

PSU - Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W
http://www.box.co.uk/Coolermaster_Si...PS_678130.html

Mobo, CPU, Memory - Intel i5 overclocked bundle
http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Bundle...roductId=44082
Might change the memory to an 8GB Mushkin (2x4GB) setup?

Graphics Card - ATI 6770
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=44386

Hard drives - Not yet chosen one.. Would atleast like a 500GB.

Anyway, help would be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck on this for months and I've finally got round to getting enough money together to think up ideas..

I'm a fan of WD hard drives. I would maybe pick a different PSU. I'm not a fan of Cooler master but thats my bias. Others may say otherwise. I find Corsair PSUs to be excellent units.

Get the samsung spinpoint f3 1tb drive its fast and well priced, its also very popular around here.

I dont rate cooler master psu's try to get a corsair unit or perhaps an xfx pro unit, The last thing you want it a cheap psu failing on you.

apart from that great build! I use aria myself

Thanks mate .
Would the Mobo and Case take a couple of those running together?

Ahh I see, could you reccommend a Corsair PSU to run with that system then?

Cheers

Thanks for that mate, I'll look into the Samsung! .

Bit warey on the case though. I did want it 'silent' but I don't know if that would compromise the heat situation?

Hi! Welcome to OCN mate, everything looks decent for the parts you've posted.

Although the PSU is is decent enough you can get something better like the Corsair TX650v2 or HX650 at almost the same price of the one you've posted.

Also, there is the Lian Li Lancool K58B or CM 690ii Lite for almost the same price as the Sileo.

+1 for the Samsung F3 1TB, probably is the best price/perfomance you can get for your money.

For the graphics card, Scan.co.uk does a MSI 1Gb GTX460 deal for only £114 every Friday!

In regards to sourcing your parts, check out Scan.co.uk at their Today's Only section everyday. You'll save loads. And if you're a member on AVForums or Hexus Forums with atleast 20 posts you'd be qualified for FREE next working day delivery FOREVER!

Edit: Just read you want also want a silent case. Try investing in with Fractal Design R3 or XL. Both are very sleek lookin cases.

Thanks bud

Yeah a Corsair sounds like a sound bet. Will look at Scan.co.uk for any that pop up in the 'deals for today'.

As for cases, im not overly fussed that they are 'silent'. Its just I dont want something that is overly loud if you know what I mean? If cooling the system is a better option then im all for it!
Which case would you recommend in that instance?

Happy days! Ill have a look into that

Thanks for your help mate, sorry for being so anal about it all, just want to get it right first time!

Also, anything else that I haven't already mentioned that I could do with?
