Does anyone still play EQ1?

As the title says, does anyone here still play Everquest 1? If so, what server/how is the population? I am thinking of restarting my account since I cannot find a decent MMO in comparison to it. Only thing I hated was the poor population on my server (Quellious/Rodcet Nife at the time, not sure if the name changed via server merge). Had a 81 Bard, would love to boot him back up lol.

I came upon a Magelo link from a few years ago to my SK and when I checked it the server name was different. At 1st I thought "I've been hacked!!!" After googling I found out there had been another server merge. When I started I was on Innoruuk, then they merged it with The Nameless and sometime after I quit it was merged with Erollisi Marr (iirc). Anyway I have also been thinking about coming back to EQ. I played for a little over 5 years and have a lvl 73 SK (they had just raised lvl cap from 70 to 75 when I quit) and a 60 something cleric. Every mmo I try I always end up having fond memories of EverQuest and being disappointed in whatever MMO I am playing.

Wow is nothing like EQ in anyway. I played on VZ back in the day...still the best MMO I've ever played. Left when Luclin came out and couldn't get back into it. PVP in that game was awesome with nothing being instanced.

Recently I quit WoW after 5 years. Rift is basically WoW with better graphics but it's taking my casual time (like 5 hours a week)

Part of me does miss pre-luclin. Selling in East Commons was a lot of fun. I have one of the oldest characters on Bertox, but I haven't played for a few years.
In progress.

Even thinking of this is heresy! LOL

If you were relate WoW to EQ in anyway, I could see WoW being the teenage redheaded stepchild, that was obtained in a failing marriage between Everquest and a Dora the Explorer game, that fails to color inside the lines of coloring books containing nothing but rainbows while snacking on lead based paint chips and drinking the urine of a ram.

The only thing that EQ and WoW have in common...they are both MMORPGs...thats about it.
