2600k high temps with IBT updated Linpack - Page 2

Folding is also a good way to test stability. These 2600K really rape those smp WUs. My Q9550 would drop about 2 WUs per day, this 2600K drops 6 or so

nice! I'm going to run Prime95 for 12 hours tonight. Just currently testing 4.8GHz @ 1.36v right now. Seems to run fine in IBT so far.

Temps are loading at 60c on the hottest core.

I'm beyond stoked for this chip!

Nice Temps now!

Honestly thats not going to to much for you.

Prime for like 2 hours tops, make sure to run blended & open up a music player and like a old game at the same time. If you get through 2 hours of that your probably good. These SB chips really can fool you in terms of stability. I was finding a 4.6 profile the other day and passed 4 hours of prime, went to open foobar while it was running to listen to some tunes and insta hard lock. Since then I stress test for like an hour for prime95 blended, foobar2000, & cs 1.6 =D (def helps pass the time).

I think the CPU really need to see different types of calculations at full load to give you a good idea of how stable it is, unlike previous gen CPUs that would just flat out fail instantly.

Keep in mind 4.8 @ 1.36v would be a pretty decent chip, so you might need some more voltage. I would also suggest looking into some gigabyte p67 vreg and llc settings just so you dont have to deal with alot of vdroop.

I have LLC enabled, I also just passed 20 Runs of IBT with the updated linpack.

that's 4.8GHz @ 1.36v (after vdroop) -- my vdroop with LLC enabled, is 1.4v bios, 1.38v windows, and 1.36v under load.

What do you think i'll need for 5.0GHz?

I'm happy with 4.8GHz though.

I got P34626 in Vantage, PPU disabled.

Hrmm alot of variation in the Gflops... were you doing anything else while you were burning ? Id give it another .2v and run IBT again for 5-10 runs and see if you get closer groupings of gflops. If so, I would start bring it down notch at a time from that new voltage value.

I highly suggest running prime95 blended and opening a few apps for an hour as well.

If your stable @ ~1.38v @ 4.8, I dunno prob 1.44-1.48 for 5.0

I'm not sure exactly what I was doing during IBT, I'll bump it up .02v and i'll post up the results.

I was at 1.4v @ 4.8 and 5.0 took 1.5125v on my chip. Big jump after 4.8 on these. HOWEVER!

I had a Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B and it was hot hot hot. You may need less.
