the M18x

vs

NP7280-S1

Question I guess would be in terms of quality, longevity, and customer service/RMA.

Well the M18x in the link is $1900, and the NP7280-S1 is $2900 tongue.gif. I think I would go with the Dell one because of the cool looking colors.

Without a doubt Sager, there are loads of sites that you can use to make the perfect setup for them. Build quality is great, performance is great

So Sager quality and customer service is better?
OK. Seriously. Sager is an OEM reseller of the ODM Clevo notebook cases. So, if you don't like Sager and it's prices or services you can look to others who use Clevo cases. But I will say that Sager is definitely a higher bang for the buck and I'd bet that if you had a problem, better support than Alienware (Dell).

If you want to find better pricing check out xoticpc. They might have both better prices and warranties than Sager directly.

agree their are many places that sell "Sager" laptops, XoticPC in the US Kobalt Computers in the UK are just 2 places that sell them. I would check out sites, also Notebookreview is a GREAT site for finding out what places sell the laptops

Sager makes a solid laptop, lots of cooling (although they are ont he loud side) One of the guys I work with swears by them, they're big, heavy, loud and powerful. Customer service is pretty good, and honest, i called them about an older unit we had around the office, and got on the phone with someone very quickly, and was straight forward with me, no rma experiences though.

Alienware, in my mind only has the stigma of too expensive, i think dells repair service has been good in the past, or at least I thought they were? But im not sure about the quality of their machines.

As for other recommendations: Asus ROG Laptops, I have the 15.6" Asus G60VX and love it, it has handled everything Ive thrown at it fairly well, runs well, and seems to be of solid build quality. I would check out neweggs offerings, or for customization check out xoticpc.com for configurable units.
