Networking help please

Thread Starter
I'm volunteering at this place which recently received a donation of 9 computers. We'r looking to set up a computer room that people can come in to use. They'r running a fresh install of xp and do not have any wireless capability.

Im looking to set up internet access for these computers. They are in a separate room the office, where the wireless router is.

Would it be possible to connect the 9 computers to a switch, and connect the switch to the router with a powerline connector. Its not feasible to run a cat 5 cable to connect the switch.

Alternatively, I could buy 9 wireless adaptors and connect them wirelessly. There are already 4 computers on the office network if its relevant.

Would appreciate suggestions.

Yes, that could work, though I would go with a different route.

I would use a wireless bridge + switch to get access to those computers.

If possible i would run all 9 pc's through a switch and save on purchases of 9 wireless adapters.

Why not?
Perhaps your equipment needs relocated or to actually be planned before implemented.

yip that'll work, but i'd go switch for the 9, and connect the switch to a wireless bridge (ap) to the router. Internet should be fine but it could get slow if its on wireless g, assuming the net connection is really fast.
