Apertium in Windows - need help

Thread Starter
Hello all

I've been trying to get Apertium to work on Windows and I can't get it to work.

I followed the instructions at: http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Aperti..._Windows_users

The article ends with an example
Translating a file

Quote:
Example: translating an HTML file from Asturian to Spanish:
Code:
apertium -f html ast-es $(cygpath c:\\mystuff\\asturian_input.html) $(cygpath c:\\mystuff\\spanish_output.html)
(The cygpath stuff is unfortunately needed to get to a Windows file path from Cygwin. A Windows Power User could probably write a script to make this a right-click menu option.)
I tried converting a .docx document using the exact code edited for my purposes, but I get a error and a screen of correct usage.

What would be the correct formula since the example is giving me an error? Thanks!

The command you need is:

apertium -f html ast-es $(cygpath c:\\\\mystuff\\\\asturian_input.html) $(cygpath c:\\\\mystuff\\\\spanish_output.html)

Also, for Apertium-related questions, I recommend that you ask on either the Apertium mailing list (apertium-stuff@lists.sourceforge.net) or IRC channel (#apertium on irc.freenode.net)
