[QUOTE=gregory121295;13394290]sorry, forgot you can't use newegg in Europe. Here's a similar build on azert toaling ~350 euros.

http://azerty.nl/0-1127-389872/amd-p...-3-2-ghz-.html

http://azerty.nl/0-1044-225954/coole...-310-midt.html
http://azerty.nl/8-857-26024/seagate...ffer-8-mb.html

the only difference is a kinda crappy cooler master 310 case, and a small seagate 80 gb 7200 rpm sata drive.

I like the way you are thinking..funny that you could find this store in the Netherlands? Also everything is in Dutch on the weblinks (at least for me that is), so big thumbs up for finding all this stuff for me on Azerty..I am checking also at a local big wholesaler who is pretty known in the Netherlands.
You probably also checked out that the Memory is compatible with the MB right ? Probably you did, you don't sound like a nooob in this
I am going to check if I can reuse her old Packard Hell case..it's a bit small, but we can give it a shot...at least a better PSU should be usefull.

No benchies nor official prices yet. However, I estimate platform pricing to be similar to Athlon II + 880G/890GX.

Here's how I expect pricing to be:
E2-3250/HD 6370 (2c) : Sempron 145
A4-3350/HD 6410 (2c) : Athlon II X2
A6-3450/HD 6530 (4c) : Athlon II X3
A8-3550/HD 6550 (4c) : Athlon II X4

Llano is just using a tweaked K10 so I expect CPU performance would be similar current Athlon II's. I've seen a couple of P SKU's for the A6 and A8 with a higher TDP of 100W. I believe these models might be the Fusion equivalent of "Black Edition" processors.

The latter two of which I'd only use for watercooling. Plenty of stores to go round in the Netherlands, just not the asswipe cheap prices like they have in the states.

Wasn't that just the X3's ?
If I'm correct the mobo I picked has an unlock option on it.

Mate, tell me about it. When I saw Sims 3 rinsing my PC worse than anything I play on it, I was like "what the...".
Seeing my GPU hit 92c (old generic case) made me scream! "yeah, that one looks like me, yeah your one looks pretty like you, get outta this character creation thing before you destroy my computer!!" Hahahaha.
Then all she did after I made the most awesome house was wohoo our Sims...

Planned on building her her own decent rig too 'cos she wanted to play the new Medieval aswell. ;p

I was gonna get her an i3 2100 build with a GTS 450/ GTX 460, but an Athlon II x2/x3 with 5770 would be plenty no doubt. Though for that low price, you can easily get a Phenom 555 now, chance of unlocking for extra "oomph" or squish an easy OC and leave it alone.

Nar, the x2 Phenom II's have the possibility of unlocking to x3's or full quads, it's the Athlon II x3's which possibly unlock to x4's, and the x2's are native dual cores, with the exception of a rare few.

Ah...

I have little streetcred when it comes to AMD, though I still know how to set one up (both in a shop, as well as in a case).

The ram is ddr3 1600 MHz cl9, which works perfectly with the motherboard. Due to the fact that AMD processors under-clock ram to 1333, you'll have to manually set it to 1600 MHz in the bios. you may want to reuse the case, dvd drive, and hard disk. A very decent mid range gaming pc, that could be upgraded with an unlocked 6950 in the future to be able to play games like crysis at medium-high settings and decent fps.

I know you can't use newegg, but perhaps you can find similar prices elsewhere.

This calculates to 356 euros and is actually a pretty good computer.. pretty high quality stuff and a decent gpu for her gaming needs.

It's unbelieve guys, thanks very much for all your help, that's why it was a good idea to ask on OC.net what all of you think, there are plenty of good technical guys with good insights here that really know what to get when you are on a budget. Thanks again all of you!
I am going to look on some options that you all gave me. If you have some more idea's, please let me know, always helpfull..I will take some time time tonight to check some stuff out and then figure something out in a list and I will ask your insights on this list once more.

You know ... I would definitely wait a month for Llano.
It will sport a Radeon HD 6570 with a decent Phenom II quadcore. You can even buy a dedicated graphics card (like a HD 6670 I belive) and do Hybrid Crossfire. Very cheap, effecient and good performance I assume.

The Llano is just a Phenom II with graphics on the same die scaled down to 32nm instead of 45nm, so you can expect the performance to be around the same as the Phenom II line.

Good luck. No benchies yet.

Edit: Also 100W TPD, compared tot the high end Phenoms which are 125W. It's just a month.

Hmmm...you are not the first who is mentioning that..could be a good idea.
Like I said, I have some time for she will make up her mind of what she really wants. I guess I can wait a month, but I am also checking the options the guys are giving me.
Is Llano going to be Mini ITX ?
This would be great if that would be the case, because then perhaps it's better, because her Packard Hell case that she has now is not so big and I want to try to re-use that case. Just get a new decent PSU and some decent HDD and that's it.
