AC Freezer 13 lapping

Ok so iain't got much money (Wife and kids) but i love pc's so in my skinpy budget i got an artic freezer 13 wich is an ok cooler for the dosh and bored i took it out and lapped it and my aging C2D E6600 and low and behold my idle temps are 30c with cpu clocked @355x9=3.2Ghz it is about 8-10c cooler than before but i just want to know if these are good temps compared to higher end coolers any comments on how to get them lower would be greatly welcome

And works great.... overclocking is boring and can go wrong as well...
Temps seem pretty good IMO for such a low end heat sink.

well 400x8 vcore 1.5v idle 34c not bad for a 4 year old e6600 that ran at 3.6 for the best part of 3 years

Since you've already lapped your cpu, you obviously know how to lap. And the heatsink on non-HDT coolers is less likely to cause a mishap than on a cpu ihs.

Lapping only costs your time, and you can involve one or more of your children (check your level, bring you sand paper, etc.). I'd say it's a worthwhile project, if only to see what helps more, lapping the cpu or lapping the heatsink.

This might need a new thread, but how can you be sure you're actually lapping at the proper angle. Sure the surface itself might be flat, but if it's flat at an angle then what good is it?
