They've already said there will be a PC version. However I'm sure it will be like most of multi-platform games, where the major focus for the team is to make sure the console experience is the best it can be, since that's where the major money is right now.

It's the PC version.. look closely at the interaction pop-ups.

You can see "E" many times when the guy was highlighting stuff. Heck, at the bottom left you can see numbers next to the weapons just like any other shooter on the PC.

This guy was just bad or was using some crappy mouse. Probably both

You'll also notice little to no jaggies. I thought by now people here could instantly tell if a video was on the console or not just by that alone

In complete honesty.... this game does not look interesting in the slightest. Judging by the last few releases to have come out of iD (Doom 3, Quake 4), I wouldn't doubt myself either.

What happened to the iD I used to know?

Sorry, may have been the PC version, but afaik you can't move the way he did without analog input for movement.
I say controller for sure.

The iD you know makes engines, not necessarily great games.

Wow...

There are such things as low sensitivity. I just told you about the icons too

Obviously this was just a demo to give us a taste of the gameplay. If the guy was playing for real with a real mouse, he'd go through that level much quicker which would defeat the purpose of the video.

I've never liked the gameplay of id games. I find most of the dooms and quakes boring, the gameplay is just generic and bland. But what id always did well was make extremely technically polished good games with great netcode, and I respected that. So they were always technically great, but mediocre in gameplay design.

But.... they're making a console game for 2004 technology now. They can't be cutting edge. They can't be technically great. They're not even going to bother with dedi servers so even their great netcode won't matter. So the only thing they're good at - the technical side of things - is irrelevant, leaving only their mediocre gameplay. There will be nothing worthwhile about this game.

A lot of games have "generic" game play. COD doesn't take off heads or limbs, crysis doesn't, they were both "popular". IMO Crysis has some of the worst generic game play I've ever seen. Crysis 2 is pretty close to being as bad, the game was really never great. COD, it's everything you want in a generic war time shooter. MAG for the PS3, standard game play but amazing online play because of the amount of users.

There are no "great" games any more because everything has been done. At least anything that makes a game stand out. You get the same styles, more or less, with just better graphics and a different story.

GOW2, Army of Two, Killzone3

L4D2, generic, but everybody loves killing zombies. Blah, games are getting old and predictable but that's probably because I've played too freakin many.
