Registry mechanic and windows doctor. Try running both of those. Windows doctor has registry, temporary cache, and system tuner (settings) that might help some. 200 series seems to work good enough for that stuff. Overclocking ATM is easy and will make some difference. If you can get your bus to 800 and same multi makes for 400fsb and 1:1 ram ratio. This doesn't take much with that. It will give your system a little more snap and CPU intensive apps/tasks run alot faster for your chip. Lemme see your template and give you a quick BIOS. You can try it, you will have to drop vcore down to stable and lowest. (Keeps CPU vcore/temp/speed efficient)

400 for bus. 8 multi (3.2)
1.3 core term
1.5 pll
Mch core 1.3

My problem was uTorrent 3.0 beta. Lot's of problems with the latest release according to the forums. Either way, I'd like to finish these OC optimizations. If anyone feels like chiming in with a definitive template, I'm all ears.

EP45 UD3 thread:
http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...ers-guide.html

FYI your board is king of all socket 775 quad overclockers. E6600 tops out at around 3.6-3.7 and will barely use any of that board's potential. Pick up a Q9550 and you'll see what's up.

Quick question... how do I find out what rev I have? I know I don't have 1.0, but I have no way of telling if I have 1.1 or 1.6. Attempting to upgrade with 1.1 prompted me with a BIOS ID error. Have not tried 1.6.
You need to click on the User CP at the top of this page, then scroll down the left side to the Add System link and enter in your system specs in as much detail as possible. By that I mean 2 x 2gig G.Skil PC2-8500 CL5 ram instead of 4 gig ram, etc. That way we have some idea of what we are dealing with. While you are at it, go to the Edit Your Details link, then scroll down towards the bottom and fill in the Where You Live with at least your country. It makes things so much easier when people know what country you are from when recommending products.

To know which revision you have look at the mainboard tab and see what bios rev it says you have. Rev 1.6 uses letter letter (as in FE) while 1.0 and 1.1 uses letter number (as in F10).

Try some of the changes in Red below.

Well can you get any Overclock (light) and tell me your settings. Your ram might run at 1.8-2.2. You also can try... keeping 1:1 by lowering clock on ram and upping you Fsb to that and raise vcore to 1.40 and raise fsb and ram till your at a wall
