ok so i have a 5870 watercooled and it has given me some trouble in the past. so should i upgrade to 2 480's watercooled or just buy another 5870 and watercool it so i'd have 2 5870's oc'd? would the 480's be worth the extra money?

Personally, it wouldn't be worth it. You'd be spending a lot more money for a slight performance difference. I run 2x 5850s in xfire and I get crazy performance, so you'd really enjoy 2x 5870s.

However, what are these "problems" you're experiencing?

i was having some driver crashes then i was getting this grey screen and it would have lines up and down it. kinda hard to explain if u need me to i can post a pic but i sent it off to xfx and it hasn't been messing up anymore. but i dont want that to happen again because its a pain to break down my loop.

Yeah, I hear you. I've never had the grey screen, so like you said if it hasn't happened since you sent it to XFX you're probably in the clear.

11.4 drivers have been working really well for me for a good week or so. No issues yet.

Get another 5870 More cost effective than investing in two 480's at this point.

Or maybe 560 SLI?
