I got the missing files from the bc2 master server. Extract these to your PB folder.

pbcl.dll

htm\lc002272.htm

bc2_pb_2072.zip

The link to the zip file is:

Again, I did this and it worked. Hardest part was getting the files from mediafire.com

Good Luck.

Could you post a pic your pbsetup to show client and server info so people know if they are doing it right or not?

I only have the pb client installed and I did not use the PBSETUP.exe tool for this solution. I got the PB ERROR #0111 when I tried the PBSETUP. For this person's solution to the problem, you download his zip file, extract the files, then copy them to the correct directories which, for me, are...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb\dll
and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb\htm

The files in the zip are in directories so it is pretty easy to know where they go. I only copied the two files. The x.htm file is zero length and was already there but I replaced it anyway. The wc002272.dll file is the important one I imagine. After getting these files, I played for over 30 minutes and tore myself away from a game to sign up on this forum and post MaydaX's solution which I think works. I was on vacation for a week and couldn't play BFBC2 then came back to find the "kick" problem... thank goodness (or MaydaX) for a solution biggrin.gif

Thank you Maydax....that works guys, just copy the zip file to your desktop, extract it and it will have 2 folders, highlight them on desktop, right click and move to, c drive, program files x86, electronic arts, bad company 2, pb, and there will be the dll and htm, the files to the matching folders and done, run pbsetup and it says it's updated....yeah, the update is on the servers but not being available to the players via update....thanks guys.... smile.gif .... later on Stealth

Same problem, none of the suggested fixes have worked.

PB is ruining pc gaming for me hands down.

It has caused more problems than it has ever helped.

Edit:
-Maydax's solution worked.

-I still stand by my contempt for PB (You can never just play your games....you have to search all over the internet to find a way to stop getting auto kicked from every game once a week) It's a joke really...

Hi,

After spending about 4 hours tonight trying various suggestions on this thread, I've concluded that the manual punkbuster update doesn't work (ie. running pbsetup or even uninstalling/reinstalling using pbsvc.exe)

What I found though is providing you allow TCP/UDP Port 10002 outbound on either your Software/Hardware firewall/router and then run BC2 as per normal, this allows Punkbuster to connect to it's server and download/install patch automatically

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Hi there! I had the same trouble with BC2, my english isn´t really perfect, but i found a way to update pb and maybe it can help you too.

1. download the pbsetup3.4

2. there should be a pb folder in your gamefolder (like this: C:\Program\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb)

3. copy the .exe in your gamefolder and start it (this should create a pb folder if there is no)

4. start the pbsetup.exe

5. add bfbc2 to the directory of pb (pb asks you for the gamefolder: C:\Program\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2)

6. now it´s important that you click on the "browse" button!! Choose the Gamefolder as it is, but ADD the pb folder!!! C:\Program\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\pb

7. After that, click on update and he downloads the missing wc002272.dll !

That´s how it works on my system. I hope you can repeat my victory!!
