Bluescreen Help! DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Thread Starter
Bluescreen View says its the tcpip.sys and the address in stack is tcpip.sys+4980f.

What can be done about this issue?

tcpip.sys is controlling the communication of drivers with the net?

So I should just not try and do 50 things at once with all different drivers or would defragging help this issue at all?

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is a BSOD related to a driver, since you've already found the culprit, I suggest reinstalling your network drivers.
That's usually a memory related BSOD for me. Or Northbridge / IMC.

+1 for memory.
Are you getting this at an overclock or at stock speeds?

tcpip.sys controls the max number of TCP/IP connections that are allowed. It's possible that this BSOD was caused by another instability though, in which you mentioned.

Any other errors found in Event Viewer, OP?

Try reinstalling, or updating your wireless, or wired internet drivers as already stated.

Another thing to look out for is certain Antivirus programs can cause bsod's too. CA antivirus, Zone Alarm, and AVG are known for causing random BSOD's on certain pc's.

Ah thanks, didn't know that was the specific fix xD.

+Rep!

Thought I had the updated intel drivers installed for the extreme, guess not. Time to reinstall!

Nothing else found!

Give the re-installation of your network drivers a-go, if you're still seeing the same BSOD and or any other BSODs, report back.

use the network drivers off of asus' site because the ones on the MB disk are known to cause blue screens
