Need Help With Folding (955/6870/4670)

Recently my folding times are OUTRAGEOUS. Loads are all 100% but all the sudden the WU's are taking much longer. For example: my 6870 has a x16 with an ETA of 12 DAYS!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if this is some glitch or what. Using the beta v7 btw.

Sry... That picture sucks.

Have you tried folding SMP on only two cores of your CPU, since you're running two ATI cards? I know my 6850 eats a whole core when it's folding, so I fold on SMP on three cores of my CPU.

You can change that setting in the Configure->Slots menu in the v7 client. Or if you use v6, you can just use the -smp 3 flag. But it looks like you're using v7 from that screen shot.

edit: Does the 4xxx card use the new ATI core? If not, I think you could use the environmental variable things that are in the GPU folding tutorial and set the affinity of both GPUs to one core, and fold SMP on the other three. That's what I do with my 6850 and 8800GT.

AMD/ATi cards suck up a lot of CPU cycles to fold despite producing more points with the new client. The pic is ultra blurry so I can't really see, but I think you're folding on cpu + 6870 + 4670. Stop folding on the 4670, the PPD it outputs isn't worth the amount of cpu power you have to invest into it.

Try running -smp 3 for your CPU client, and dedicating the last core to your 6870 with environmental variables. This should help bump your PPD slightly.

Affinity is set and I get more ppd with the 4670
