Better safe than sorry man, more haste less speed!

Another thing to make sure of is whether the push-pins of your horrible, stock heatsink are all the way in. These things are AWFUL and it was a nightmare to put them into place for me...

Do you mean those 'fingers'?
attachment.php?attachmentid=209160&stc=1&d=1304664868
If so, then they should rest against the USB ports, they should be slightly bent inwards so they make contact with your I/O panel.

Tip: Your case came with 7 standard stand-offs, and 2 "special" ones that are slightly longer than the others. These will go through your motherboard screw holes, thus temporally securing the motherboard in place (as your IO shield will push the motherboard out a bit) allowing you to screw it in properly.

When you put your motherboard in, do it with back panel first so that it goes into the IO shield, then press the motherboard down and towards the IO shield slightly so that these 2 "special" standoffs will get into holes.

Just keep the mother board in place with one hand and get at least one screw in, whichever one is easiest to secure. That will make the rest easier to get in.

I installed my 2x4GB of RAM in the two black slots which are labeled DIMM A1 and DIMM B1. Is that correct?

I'd use a butter knife - The best way to apply TIM.

Nah .. To be serious - use a amount on the size of a rice corn to a peanut size - the salted one.
And of you can, then wipe the Components off, both the cooling profile, and the CPU - just to make sure there are no TIM, dust, grease left smile.gif

Have fun

This thread is pretty indicative of the level of support geek squad offers. Not to flame, but I put my first computer together a couple weeks ago and it took me about an hour to do everything, including wc loop.

Most motherboards have 2 different color ram slots, put them in the same color ones.
