Roccat Pyra - Page 7

I see you had to remove one of the feet to open it, can you stick it back with no problems?

I've had my Pyra for over a month now, but I just can't get used to it. Not sure what's the problem exactly... I'm thinking it's mostly the very low weight, followed by the unusual shape. After all, it weights only ~62 grams without the cable. My old MX518 was like 106 grams (my measurement might not be 100% accurate, but you get the idea).

So I was thinking, maybe I can open it up and add some weight. I get that most people want their mice as light as possible, but this seems too light for me.

But if I have to superglue the glide I take off, it will probably end up raised slightly due to the glue and mess up the tracking...

Depends on where you hold the mouse, but I'd say its not really an issue at all as the engraving is pretty shallow.

Yea, it was relatively easy, I just used a chiseling blade (x-acto) to carefully lift the back glide/skate (as well as the adhesive) and it went back on pretty easily. I actually liked the weight, but I also felt that something wasn't quite right, and I think I eventually decided that the mouse was just slightly too small for my hands (20.5cm from the tip of my middle finger to the carpus).

wo1fwood I read your review and pictures, I think we have similar grips, my palm touches the end of my mouse.
I think I'll get the wired Roccat Pyra, is it a good choice, are there better mouse qualified?

This is my Abyssus I have thumb and pinky finger at lower part of mouse.

The 0.5x lense was the reason i bought a Pyra (wireless edition), as i wanted to try other combinations with it. However the Pyra shape caught my attention totally, after i got it. The ruber on the sides is cool. thumb.gif

Roccat Pyra + Razer Deathadder 3.5G = PyraDDer! (Click to show)
Top & Weight

Pyra button PCB

Bottom

Specs:
- Deathadder 3.5G Sensor
- Buttons 1-3; Wheel ^v
- 71 gramm

Mouse 4/5 switches are still in the top shell, i dont feel like they cost to much weight + the Sidebutton placement is rather nice - they do not interfere. devil.gif

It probably depends on your hand size. I ended up getting cramps because the mouse was just too small for me (see above). I am much more comfortable with the G100s in terms of its size/dimensions. Additionally, my grip has changed a tad in that there is a side area on the top of the shell of the g100s where I can rest my right ring finger (I feel much more control because of this, and I don't have to worry about accidentally hitting sw2 which I did with the pyra). To compare with the image, my ring finger would now be on the top r_side of the shell and not the side you see below. I think this is more a hand size thing though as I have pretty long fingers and the pyra was just too small for me to get the right kind of control with it.
