Well if you know its not psu / gpu / ram well its mobo or cpu or settings.
Up core volts. I could not get passed 4.2 on gigabyte ud3r 3 different cpus ,qpi locked volt control on that board (was when i had it).
I would go to the 4ghz overclock (what u got @ lower cpu speeds) and test. board mite not be able to do that high of overclock. dont forget that board way the cheapest x58 mobo out .
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

wow u say memtest. and offer nothing but trying to insult me by my spelling or grammar Smooth move.

As i said. The mobo is not the best. If your same bios as last one and it died I woulds swap bios.
i think 1.375 for 4 ghz on that board when 920 d0 HT on.
I had 2 ud3r and both = in same bios and setting with same (cpus 4).
I still think your not running the same bios. Update the bios and REDO overclock settings and all test No fast 2 sec fix. no bsod u are way off on settings.
Get bios from different pc. not the unstable one.

My new board is the X58A UD3R and my old one was the X58 UD3R (the new one has the A at the end of X58). On my old board I was able to set it to 4Ghz with only 1.2V in the Bios and it would pass Prime for hours and 10 runs of LinX. With this board with the same bios settings it shuts down the computer a few seconds after I start LinX.
Lol ok well you know the 2 boards are different right? the old one was usb 2 . the new one is usb 3 also 6 ram slots old one was 3 ram slots. alos its got more phase power = cleaner power to cpu.

Need to redo all settings, and start for starch redo the 24 hour stress test.

Why are you trying to run linx anyway?
You already killed one board running LinX...you haven't learned your lesson for your particular rig?

Try some prime blend..if that passes, call it a day and move on.
The fact that linX has failed on two systems--one, the motherboard blew up, second, the computer just shuts down, either means 1) the overclock is unstable, 2) the board's VRM's cant handle the power draw, 3) your PSU can't handle the power draw and probably took out the first board. Probably a combination of 1 or 3, though 2 may come into play.

Frankly, you should just take the hints and learn your lesson. You killed hardware that was working perfectly for two years, with LinX and high vcore..and you want to do it again, despite the "i'll shut myself down to protect the system" warning? Whether the first board was defective or not, the fact that the system SHUTS DOWN (instead of just restarting), should tell you something. This is darwin award material, no offense....

I figured out what was wrong, my new motherboard can't take high blks. I had it pass 10 runs of LinX at 21X 191 at 1.2v but it shut down my computer if I ran LinX at 19X 211 at the same voltage and even higher voltages.

I want to run LinX since it is a quick way to see if my overclock is unstable. It doesn't make sense to not run a program that everyone else can run since if it only doesn't work on my system that it is obvious that there is something wrong with my system.

I also said in one of my posts that it wasn't just LinX that was shutting down my computer, as it would happen if I played a game called Rift ( I didn't try any other games).
Ok, fair enough. I have rift, too. I'm just personally against running non real world stress tests that heat your cpu up too much. Degraded my CPU as a result. No more prime or LinX for me (except at LOW vcore).

Where did you get these numbers from? In my search for the 4.0 GHz on a crap mobo, I was stable 14 hours in Prime and crashed in LinX

you probably shouldn't be overclocking at all if your board can't successfully run linx without shutting itself down. that just shows that it's not up to par with the stress that may occur in everyday situations. just because linpack is an unrealistic stressor doesn't mean that your system won't be stressed harder in other ways. stressing it to the fullest with all the stress tests available is the best you can do. just don't complain when you get a random BSOD or windows gets corrupted
