Its extremely low relative to it's predecessor...

PS2: 130,000,000 units; PS3: 50,000,000 units
Xbox: 25,000,000 unites; [U]Xbox 360[/--U]: 53,000,000 units

PS3 is a relative failure, Xbox 360 is a relative success.

360 is making it's division a profit; PS3 is a relative money pit.

I wonder if those extra units for Xbox include the people who had to buy new systems because of RRoD...


PSN going down for a month, does not equate to the time my friends have been without their xbox's due to RRoD or Drive issues.

It amazes me how much one can get involved/interested when their product is under fire. Yes the PSN has been down, so what? Does that mean we can't ever play it again?

Also when you mention that the PS3 reads discs slower than the 360, so what? Blu ray is a better format than DVD and the slow read rate doesn't negate the fact that it still is better. Furthermore, the slow read rate doesn't really have an effect if the games are coded properly, and the devs are not lazy. For example, games like uncharted 2 which utilize techniques to "repeat" the data have very short load times. Blu ray movies, to me are absolutely fine. It doesn't take long at all, and no one really goes crazy if it does (rarely) take more than avg time to load, no one is going to take a gun to Sony.

PS3 is a failure?

Stupid arguments are becoming very old now. Read rate, online, games, etc. That like me saying RROD killed the xbox, and still is a prominent issue today.

I could ramble on and one, but i can't stay here forever

The X360 is a fine system, as is the PS3. Pick either one and you are fine for while

But i must say, Forza more realistic than GT5? Ha, good joke!

Aren't online rentals limited to 720p, maybe 1080i? Even if they are available in 1080p you still have to somehow beat the Blu-ray audio on top of that. There is also the fact that streaming something at 1080p would use a nice chunk of bandwidth that not everyone has unlimited amounts of.

I personally don't care much about gaming online on a console, not that I dislike console games, I just loathe the online console gaming community. Although I will admit that it can be entertaining with the assistance of some alcohol. Still not entertaining enough to justify paying for it though, haha.

I really just want the PSN back up so I can get my copy of Portal 2 on Steam.
