I felt the need to quote the two most immature and pathetic "contributors" to this thread to point out their fallacies, despite the issue already being taken care of. I'm doing this simply so that they are constantly aware of how foolish they look.

"Fun" in this instance is an opinion. "Kiddy game" implies a sense of superiority, and the only people who use the term "kiddy" are those just out of childhood themselves. We often refer to you as "prepubescent".
Now, to refute your "facts". LoL does NOT require money to play, and all of the content that gives any in-game benefit is unlocked via play, not money. The only things that using real-money transactions allow you to acquire are champions (early - as you can easily unlock them by playing games), and skins - a cosmetic addition to the game that gives no stat benefit.
In addition, Riot went out of their way to make sure that they were NOT selling power, meaning that the runes will only be available via points you earn as you play games, and masteries will unlock as you level.
Before making a silly, biased opinion - try playing both games. Otherwise you look like a fool.

While I shouldn't lower myself to replying to this post, I think I'll do so anyway. The prepubescent comment from above applies here as well.
"gay version of the best game ever .... *insert more poor grammar*"
I'm not really sure where to start with this. Using "gay" to refer to anything you don't like is considered intolerant and childish in these days and times. I would recommend against doing it in public in the future - you're likely to offend someone. I would also start posting with proper grammar and spelling, including punctuation, in the future.
Next, everyone knows that HoN and LoL are directly inspired by DotA and would likely not be here if not for it. Guinsoo (one of the original DotA creators) currently works for Riot Games (creators of LoL). From what I understand, others went to S2 (creators of HoN) as well. Icefrog (the biggest name in DotA) went to Valve, where he is indeed currently working on DotA 2.
Not a single person in here said that "DotA sucks". I'm not sure where you're pulling your facts from, but you look like a fool for that comment. They're all different games, one of which is the original, two of which are spin-offs, and the last of which will become a kind of sequel. Many people are fans of all of them, or at least more than one. Your blind and childish attachment to one in particular (likely without even bothering to try the other two currently available) is teeth-grinding for those of us who have to read your rubbish. Think before you post.
My personal opinion? HoN has a higher learning curve. I "like" it, but I can't quite get the hang of it the way I was able to LoL and DotA. I'm not really sure why that is, but it's a struggle to me, and I have the gold shield from beta (I've been around for awhile). That said, I would love to learn, and if anyone would be willing to offer pointers to someone who understands the genre well, but who can't quite get the hang of the game, I'd love to hear your input.
That said, LoL is in no way an easy game. It is great fun and has quite a competitive scene for itself at the moment. Alot of effort goes into the game, and many people bash it for having somewhat more "cartoon"-like graphics, but it truly is a great, fun game.Edited by Furai - 5/12/11 at 7:07pm
