^^^ This.

Is there a reason why you need Turbo C specifically?

Turbo C++ was discontinued several years ago. I'm shocked that a university is actually still using it. It was superseded by C++ Builder; the IDE has a 30-day trial, though the command line compiler can be had for free.

Will it run in compatibility mode? If not, I suggest Bloodshed Dev-C++. It's a really simple, easy to use editor. http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html
