I have been running Prime95 for a little over an hour and the temp highs are:

Core 0 - 80
Core 1 - 78
Core 2 - 76
Core 3 - 74

Those are the highs, but they sit about 1-2 degrees cooler than that when i'm watching it. That seems a little high to me, but i have never monitored it on a regular basis so i do not know what the baseline is.
I've actually never used one of the stock heatsinks, you could try remounting and see if you get any better, as long as it stays under 80ºC in Prime your fine. You should check out the FS thread, I saw a H50 for $50 shipped in there, should help you control those temps, and give you some room to OC, or grab a Hyper 212+, they are super cheap

BAD ones. Don't use stock cooler on a 920 for OC'ing. It's barely decent for stock speeds.

There's several recommendations if you look around but I love my CM Hyper 212+. Even with my horrible application of TIM it still dropped my full load temps from ~65c to ~41c, and it's damn quiet (even at 2000 RPMs).

It's also pretty cheap. I picked one up in Microcenter for $35 with an $8 mail-in rebate.

Thread Starter
so, after trying and trying again i decided to reset everything back to stock. ran prime and was stable as can be.

I then set took my dram frequency off auto and set it to 1600mhz, with 1.66v. and i instantly get the worker stopped when running blend mode in prime. Could it be my ram that is causing the issues? or am i just not changing a setting that i should be?

4.0 200x20 @ 1.31250 ram at 1603 will be near stable, its 100% stable* on mine.

*18 hours prime.

u may need less you may need more, but Ive built a few 920s on p6t and they all needed 1.312 (but looking about on he they must have been crap batches)

Dunno if it will help, but I have my 920 @ 4.0GHz with 1.232v (sig rig)

From what I've seen this is on the low end for voltage.

vtt is 1.2
vdimm is 1.64

I'm on water so I peak at high 50's for linpack.

Or

I also have run it at 3.5GHz, changing only the vcore to 1.07v
Again that number is on the lower end of the spectrum I think.

The easiest way I see of doing it is setting your vcore high and working down. It gets complicated when you start changing too many things though. Best advice I can give is trial and error and record everything you do.
