strange noise when ingame with 4870x2

Thread Starter
On idle / in desktop.. my gpu makes very quiet ticking sound and occasional 1 sec long buzz that is barely noticable when I put my ear next to it. But ingame it starts squling and making buzzing loud sounds. It used 2 do that rarely 2-3 games at those intro logos and not as loud, but now its doing it in every menu and when I play in almost every game. I clocked my cpu back to stock and all my bios on default just to make sure and its doing the same thing. I also noticed that its only doing that in full screen and also vsync doesnt help as some say.

I am sure that is coming from gpu because it is so loud that I can hear it over my normal speaker volume and when I put my head next to I can surely say that is gpu and not psu.

I have this pc about 2 years now and this problems started 3 weeks ago that is 1 week after my gpu warranty was over..

Make sure the Vysnc is enabled. I had a loud whistling noise with my GTX 260 and I enabled the Vysnc and it fixed it

i've had this problem since i had my 4870x2 aswell, i fixed it isolating every setting in each game to find out what makes the sound turning them off one by one, and it appears to be "shaders" that causes this noise. When i set shaders to medium the noise stops, then i set it back to high and it starts again..

Ah, my 4870x2 lets out a slight chirping noise too. It's barely noticeable when browsing and whatnot, but it intensifies while gaming. Not sure how long it was used before I bought it, though...
Been having other issues, so I haven't tried any remedies yet.
