now i'm looking to pick up a dayton 100 sub

last thing i need is a receiver and i might just pick up a onkyo SX705

i play a lot of computer games and i have an xbox 360

wondering how i can reiterate all that.

1) is it possible to plug in the cables Fr (360) to the reciever out to some headphones?

I'm pretty sure almost all receivers have phono jacks, should not be a problem to use headphones...

If you want to use the analog input jacks you need a receiver with multichannel inputs.

If you are buying the TX-SR705, they do have multi ch inputs...I don't know what the SX705 is though...

Its a typo, hes referring to the TX-SR705.

Most sound cards have analog and/or S/PDIF out, so you can connect the soundcard to the receiver. If you do that, your setup will use the soundcard's DAC.
