[PCGamer] How Deus Ex: Human Revolution feels on PC - Page 3

Wait, first it supports Dx11, eyefinity and 3D surround... and then there aren't upgraded textures, half the necessary graphics options, and 3rd party porting?

I'm getting mixed signals here.

Those screenshots are awful. I was SO excited to hear that they were adding to the series, as all I ever wanted was to see the game redone in modern graphic engine glory... and they indicate that they are going to pull a crysis? Who the hell do they think made the Franchise Popular? Xbox players? **** NO! they shouldn't even be marketing this game to anyone younger than 20, that could have had a PC and enjoyed the games from a decade ago. ***

Compared to the previous videos of the game, I think it is safe to say I am a bit underwhelmed at this point. Still could be a great game and I still may buy it, but I am definitely going to wait this one out.
With Deus Ex, in order to keep it similar to the prequels, it would boil down to this: The Dev has $40 million which can pay for prefer 8-12hrs of bleeding edge graphics or 30-40 hrs of current graphics, which would you prefer?

Good thing Deus Ex is all about the plot.

"our puniest machine, a dual-core E6750 with 2GB of RAM and an 8800GTS. That rig can’t run Crysis 2 at more than a slideshow even on its lowest settings, but does run Portal 2 perfectly." - BS

I finished Crysis 2 single player on the lowest setting (I think it was high - the other two were gamer and hardcore) @1080p with my Pentium D 805 @ stock - 1gb 667mhz RAM - and 512mb 4850

there machine would have run crysis 2 fine

I'm don't even care about the graphics, but the talk about crappy mouse movement and stuff like that is what's making me worried with this one.

Someone said that problem is fairly common for console ports, hopefully gets fixed before release.

Well if that's the case then go buy a console. It will save you $$ in the long run and you can have all the average graphics you want.

I was looking forward to this game...

What scares me the most about the game is this:

External development ALWAYS fails somehow. I've yet to see a single success from a video game port to ANY system from ANY other system not done by the developers.
Maybe Deus Ex will be the first? I'll be weary.
Just Cause 2 was a great port IMO. A true DX11 game with no problem (that I've encountered).

Bleeding edge isn't the issue here. Bad textures and sloppy controls are neither expensive nor time-consuming to fix. There's no excuse for either.
