I love how people post on a PC forum about consoles and not expect enraged envious PC gamers to lash out
Lulz.

This could get interesting;

depending on whether the 720 rumours are true, we could see MS stealing a large proportion of Nintendo's thunder. However, if Nintendo let loose some leviathan of a console (not in power terms, but games, as long as wii 2 and 720 are along similar spec) then MS could find the 720's reveal impact diminished.

From Nintendo, best thing they could do is display a new IP that looks and plays the part. However, I wouldn't complain if they showed HD 3D Metroid. <3
F-zero would be goddamn awesome as well.

I think if all rumours are true, then the largest implications are for Sony; assuming they have something in R+D (100% they do) how rushed will their next project be? OR will it be at all - may just release a year later e.g PS3, and rely on extra oomph to get stuff done.

It's a pretty damn interesting time to be a gamer.

EDIT = Will Xmas 2012 be a bloodbath?!

They won't ever implement kb/m to consoles. Consoles are marketed towards a different audience. If you want skill based competitive gaming, or just a general experience to test your skills in an in depth game then you turn to PC gaming.
If you want casual game play, where you can come home and just sit on the couch and relax and hold a controller in your hands, and don't really care about who's better or who's worse but don't want a shut out to happen...you turn to a Console. They are designed so any one, any age, can have fun on a simple level. No problem in that...

Except for when people loose sight of what a console is marketed towards, and start trying to compare it to PC, start bragging about how good they are at it (as if it took skill to get that good ), or god forbid say it's a more skilled game play than PC. That is where the problem shows up.
The only problem I see is with delusional, elitist PC gamers who have this false sense of self-entitlement, looking for a reason to justify the small fortune that they spend on their hardware so they turn their sights on console gamers who spent only a fraction on their hardware to get the exact same experience.

You seem like a guy that loves to twist arguments and build straw-men only to refute them in your very same drivel.

Consoles can be very much like PC gaming in any respect, be it casual or "hardcore." Why else do they have competitions with games like Halo and Madden were contestants compete for thousands just like PC gamers. If we stick to your narrow-minded views, how do you explain that?

I guess I'm also misjudging your own knowledge about the platform you love so much. Casual gaming, something you obviously detest, is far larger on PC than consoles, and its more important to boot. So I guess that disproves your theory about consoles "not being serious for gaming" when your very own platform is the largest casual platform there is.

Consoles are for everyone, serious or not, it's only when narrow-minded gamers like you try to impose their overly biased views when its no longer about fun.

The joke is about M$ just building a PC and calling it an early Xbox prototype.
Im pretty sure all the xbox prototypes started as PCs in large cases, I know for a fact that the 360 did. Probably the same with the ps3.

I'm wondering; do the marketing department + R+D + design get to work on the actual case? Does anybody know? I'm sure the marketing department would like something to work with.

I would marketing would have a big say into it. The look of the product has a huge sway in how you promote it.
